Dr David (Phu Hai) Ho is a Lecturer in Advertising in the School of Media and Communication. He is a seasoned communication strategist with over 20 years of experience in the advertising, marketing, and media sectors across East Asia. He has held senior roles at leading organisations including PepsiCo, British American Tobacco, Beam Suntory, DFS Singapore, and VieON, with expertise in integrated marketing communication, brand strategy, and data-driven media planning.
David is a committed and innovative educator who designs, coordinates, and delivers high-impact courses in advertising and communication. His teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a focus on creativity in advertising, work-integrated learning, and digital communication. He brings a student-centred, industry-informed teaching philosophy that emphasises creativity, critical thinking, and ethical practice. His pedagogy integrates real-world problem solving and interdisciplinary collaboration, preparing students to engage meaningfully with the evolving advertising and media landscape.
His research examines psychological mechanisms in brand communities. He supervises PhD candidates and is actively involved in interdisciplinary research linking communication, education, and emerging technologies in the creative industry.
