About

Dr Hamed Habibi is a Research Fellow in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, School of Engineering, at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. His research focuses on systems and control theory, with particular interests in nonlinear and networked systems, distributed and cooperative control, multi-agent systems, safety-critical control, fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control, and optimisation-based control. His work aims to develop advanced control methodologies for reliable, resilient, and intelligent cyber-physical systems, with applications in autonomous robotics, multi-agent networks, smart grids, and renewable energy systems.

Before joining RMIT University, Dr Habibi held research positions at Murdoch University, the University of Luxembourg, Curtin University, and the University of Western Australia. He has contributed to several international and industry-funded research projects involving autonomous robotic systems, multi-robot coordination, collaborative industrial robots, and autonomous inspection technologies. His research combines theoretical developments in control systems with simulation, experimental validation, and real-world applications.

Dr Habibi received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Curtin University, Australia, in 2019, his MSc from the University of Tehran in 2013, and his BSc from K. N. Toosi University of Technology in 2010. He has authored or co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed journal and conference publications and has extensive experience in university teaching, postgraduate research supervision, and international research collaboration.

He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a member of the IEEE Control Systems Society and IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, and a recognised Professional Mechanical Engineer with Engineers Australia. He also contributes to the international research community through journal editorial activities, peer review, and conference organisation.
