Sean Redmond

I believe strongly in the transformative nature of learning. As the great Irish poet W.B. Yeates wrote, “education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” I have taught in England, New Zealand, and Australia and like to bring a performative aspect to my teaching (including re-enacting the 'pie in the face' gag in one of my lectures on silent comedy). At RMIT, I am currently the Associate Dean of Discilpine, working with increrdible artists and thinkers in the programs of music industry, creative writing and literature, media and cinema, journalism, and writing and publishing. These programs create a learning environment that is inclusive and progressive and where the hopes of tomorrow are brought clearly into view.
