Graduate degree packages

A graduate degree package allows you to package a bachelor degree and an honours or masters degree together to receive a combined offer.

Graduate degree packages can either help you meet accreditation requirements to pursue professional practice, or equip you with a transferable skill set and body of knowledge that sets you on the first step of your professional journey. They combine a three year bachelor degree with either a one year honours degree or a two year masters degree.

Eligibility

Every course has its own entry requirements that you must meet in order to be eligible for admission. It is important to read the specific requirements on the individual pages of your chosen courses for more information.

Bachelor degrees may have certain ATAR requirements, subject prerequisites or selection task or portfolio submissions. In addition to successful completion of your bachelors degree, honours and masters degrees may have a weighted average mark (WAM), GPA or additional requirements (eg: teaching suitability assessment) which must be completed in order to gain entry into the degree.

Make sure you use the right VTAC or plan code when applying via VTAC or direct to RMIT.

Looking to apply for non-packaged degrees instead?

Apply for the bachelor's degree and, upon successful completion, you can then submit your application for the related honours or masters degree. Further information about the application and selection process is available on the individual course and apply pages.

Available Degree Packages

Teaching packages

RMIT offers teaching packages in science, industrial design, graphic design, game design and digital design, so you can both practise in your field and teach it.

Psychology package

The psychology package combines the Bachelor of Psychology with the honours year, making you eligible to apply for the Master of Clinical Psychology and is the pathway towards registration as a psychologist.

Osteopathy package

RMIT's Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Osteopathy) packaged with the Master of Clinical Osteopathy ensures you are eligible for registration to begin professional practice as an osteopath.

What happens if I fail a subject?

Impacts of failing a subject will vary course by course, however you may need to go back and successfully complete that subject in order to graduate. RMIT Student Connect will be able to advise on your best way forward should this be the case.

Can I change my mind?

If upon completing your undergraduate study you no longer want to progress into your honours or masters, you can opt out of further study. Depending on professional accreditation requirements, this may mean that you will not be able engage in professional practice.

Postgraduate qualifications for professional accreditation

Some professions require practitioners to be registered and accredited by a professional accrediting body. In order to be eligible for accreditation and to begin professional practice you must successfully complete both your bachelor and master's degree in these fields.

Architecture

In order to be professionally recognised as an architect, you must complete the Master of Architecture. After two years of professional experience, you will be able to sit the Architects Registration Board examination and register as an architect.

Landscape Architecture

To be eligible for accreditation as a landscape architect, you must complete the Master of Landscape Architecture and apply for registration with the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA).
