RMIT Online’s Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics is designed to help aspiring decision makers learn how to diagnose and evaluate business problems and opportunities, use concepts and techniques to inform decisions, and communicate those decisions to stakeholders.

The 100% online, accelerated program means your learning – and graduation – is fast-tracked and focused. You can enrol in any one of our six, seven-week teaching periods each year.

You can view online resources and learning activities, access course materials via Canvas, collaborate with lecturers and fellow students, and access your student email account anywhere, anytime.

Our online learning platform is purpose-built and brings authenticity to your learning experience, available using your laptop, tablet or smartphone. Coursework is delivered in an engaging way and easy to follow.

You will also have access to discussion boards, online forums, electronic assignment submission, the library and business journals.

Assessment is ongoing throughout the teaching period and includes essays, reports, presentations, case studies, quizzes and research projects.

Admissions

  • A bachelors degree or equivalent, or higher-level qualification, in any discipline from a recognised tertiary institution; or
  • An alternate entry requirement. If you don't have the formal bachelors or higher qualification listed above, you will be required to submit a curriculum vitae (CV) if you have the following: at least five years full-time experience working in an analyst or management role in business, information technology or information systems with a portfolio of evidence demonstrating analysis and report writing.
  • International or offshore students may need an IELTS score of 6.5 or above.

To study this course you will need to complete one of the following English proficiency tests:

  • IELTS (Academic): minimum overall band of 6.5 (with no individual band below 6.0)
  • TOEFL (Internet Based Test - IBT): minimum overall score of 79 (with minimum of 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing)
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE (A)): minimum score of 58 (with no communication band less than 50)
  • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): minimum of 176 with no less than 169 in any component.

Pathways

Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics, you will be granted 48 credit points of exemption and may be eligible to continue your studies in the following masters programs.

Online masters programs:

If you are successful in gaining entry into the online masters programs, you will be granted 48 credit points of exemption and will be able to complete these online programs in 16 months of intensive part-time study.

Exemptions from this program will be assessed consistently with the principles of the RMIT Credit Policy.

For international or off-shore students, an IELTS score of 6.5 may be required.

Fees are adjusted on an annual basis and these fees should only be used as a guide.

In addition to tuition fees, you will be charged an annual student services and amenities fee (SSAF) based on your enrolment load, which is used to maintain and enhance services and amenities that improve your experience as an RMIT student. Eligible local students can apply for an SA-HELP loan to defer payment of their SSAF.

Some students may be eligible to apply to defer payment of some or all of their tuition fees via the Commonwealth Government’s FEE-HELP loan scheme.
