About

Francesco is a theoretical physicist specializing in open and many-body quantum systems, with a focus on applying quantum science and technology to energy-related challenges. His research investigates the dynamics of excited electronic states in semiconductor materials to advance solar cells, batteries, and energy conversion in optical and electronic devices. To do so, Francesco uses modern simulation techniques such as tensor network methods, quantum master equations, and quantum simulation platforms. Recently, Francesco has also begun exploring the role of quantum entanglement and coherence in learning tasks.

Francesco is an active member of the advisory board of the International Conference on Quantum Energy (ICQE) and the former chair of the ICQE 2025 conference. ICQE promotes research and industry collaborations aimed at applying quantum technologies to the energy sector and strengthening the interdisciplinary community driving this field forward.
