Jingliang Dong, PhD, is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Institute for Sustainable Industries & Liveable Cities (ISILC), Victorai University, and an Adjunct Senior Fellow in the School of Engineering at RMIT University.
Dr. Dong earned his PhD in Biomechanical Engineering from RMIT University in 2015. He subsequently held postdoctoral positions at Chongqing University in China and RMIT University in Australia. In 2020, he was awarded the prestigious Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) by the Australian Research Council (ARC), supporting his work in particle inhalation exposure risk analysis and cross-species data extrapolation between animal and human airways.
To date, Dr. Dong has authored over 100 publications and was named a 2024 Top Scholar by ScholarGPS—an honour recognising the most productive and high-impact researchers in their fields. Dr. Dong continues to lead innovative research that bridges biomedical engineering, fluid dynamics, and environmental science, contributing meaningful solutions to real-world health and sustainability challenges.
Dr. Dong’s research portfolio includes:
Computational fluid dynamics; Advanced Heat and Mass Transfer
- Interspecies inhalation exposure analysis between human and laboratory animals
- Targeted drug-aerosol delivery in the human respiratory system
- Hemodynamic study of blood flow in carotid and coronary arteries
- Mass and heat transfer in fluid machinery
- Pollutants transport analysis and air quality management in urban street canyons and road tunnels
