About

Dr Iftekhar Khan is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering with a strong background in engineering education, student engagement, and applied research. He holds a PhD and Masters degree in Engineering from RMIT University, where his research focused on renewable energy systems design, and climate change adaptation. With extensive experience in curriculum development, course coordination, and innovative teaching practices, he is dedicated to enhancing learning experiences and academic success for diverse student cohorts.

His current research interests include cooling system design to combat the impacts of climate change, thermal management, energy efficiency, and laser beam steering technologies. He is also actively engaged in interdisciplinary projects that explore the integration of AI-driven tools to support students with learning difficulties and improve student retention in engineering education.

A recipient of multiple teaching excellence awards, including the RMIT Vice-Chancellor's Award for Innovation – Teacher of the Year, Dr Khan brings a student-centered, evidence-informed approach to teaching and supervision. He is passionate about supporting future engineers through both high-quality education and impactful research supervision.
