I am the Associate Dean of Interior Design. My background in commercial and hospitality design has informed my interest in the way in which interiors form a significant spatial and social contribution to the workings of a contemporary city.
I have extensive experience as a leader in design education. I was program director of the Bachelor of Interior Design (Hons) between 2013-2017, Higher Degrees Research Coordinator between 2018-2019 before setting up the Master of Interior Design program at RMIT (2019 – 2022). I have lead workshops in a number of institutions including Konkuk University Seoul, South Korea, LASALLE Singapore and RMIT Vietnam. I held the role of Executive Director of the Interior Design/Interior Architecture Educators Association 2014-2018 and continue to advise on educational matters for the Design Institute of Australia.
My active interdisciplinary design research practice, "Making Distance", in collaboration with Anthony Fryatt, has been exhibited at Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI); Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Doha; Brighton University, UK; Form Gallery, Perth, State of Design Festival, Melbourne; Bus Projects; Forty-five Downstairs; Pinup Gallery; Federation Square; Channel 31 and Australian Film, Television, and Radio School (AFTRS).
