Dr. Raja Fawad Afsar Khan is a Research Fellow at RMIT University, Melbourne, specializing in advanced control systems, robotics, and intelligent automation. His research focuses on robust and adaptive control of nonlinear electromechanical systems, particularly flexible joint robots and servo motor systems. He integrates sliding mode control, reinforcement learning, and optimization to enhance precision, stability, and robustness in robotic and industrial applications. His work has been published in leading journals including IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Mechatronics, and Nonlinear Dynamics.
Dr. Raja Fawad Afsar Khan has teaching experience in electrical and electronic engineering as a sessional tutor at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne. He has supported the delivery of undergraduate engineering courses by conducting tutorials, assisting with laboratory sessions, and guiding students in problem solving related to control systems, electrical circuits, and engineering analysis. His teaching approach focuses on strengthening students’ understanding of fundamental engineering concepts while connecting theoretical knowledge with practical applications in control systems, robotics, and industrial automation.
