Join us for a lecture by esteemed art collector and founder of Kaldor Art Projects, John Kaldor AO, as he discusses his recollections of artist Sol LeWitt.

In partnership with The Concentric Influences of Sol LeWitt project, RMIT Gallery is delighted to present Sol LeWitt: Recollections of a Great Artist and a Wonderful Friend, a talk by John Kaldor AO.

John first met Sol in the early 1970s when he started to collect his work.

In 1977, John invited Sol to Australia to exhibit two wall drawings; one at the Art Gallery of NSW and one at the National Gallery of Victoria; for Kaldor Public Art Project 6.

They remained life-long friends and collaborators and two more projects followed, Project 11 in 1998 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney and then posthumously Project 37 in 2022 at the Art Gallery of NSW.

In this lecture, John will reflect on Sol's practice and contributions to contemporary art.

This event is held as part of The Concentric Influences of Sol LeWitt: Foundations, Pivots and Place suite of public programs.
