About

Dr Nastaran Taghizadeh is a lecturer in the School of Management within the College of Business & Law at RMIT University. She was awarded her PhD in 2015 by the School of Management at Universiti Sains Malaysia, specialising in entrepreneurship and innovation. She also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning, accredited by the United Kingdom Higher Education Academy, which recognises her as a Fellow (FHEA) with national and international standing.

 

Before joining the School of Management at RMIT University, Nastaran held the position of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Responsible Management and Leadership at the University of Winchester, United Kingdom. She also served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman, and as a Senior Lecturer at the Graduate School of Business, Universiti Utara Malaysia.

 

Nastaran is actively engaged in research projects, particularly in the context of SMEs in developing countries, aiming to support their digital transformation journeys by enhancing operational efficiency, driving innovation, and achieving sustainable performance.

 

In addition to her academic and research achievements, Nastaran has held leadership roles, including serving as Program Manager for the Executive MBA and Senior Leader Master’s Degree Apprenticeship (SLMDA) at the University of Winchester, United Kingdom.

Teaching interests

Nastaran has extensive experience in the design, coordination, and delivery of a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across several countries. Her teaching interests include Innovation Management, Open Innovation, New Venture Creation, Entrepreneurship: Creativity and Innovation, Strategic Management, Emerging Technology Adoption, Research Methods and Analysis, Contemporary Research Methods, and Digital Insight Management.

Research interests

Her research has been published in leading international peer-reviewed journals, covering topics such as Innovation Management, Open Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Digital Innovation Culture, Digital Transformation, Technology Acceptance, Value Co-creation, Sustainability, and Social Innovation. As a dedicated quantitative researcher, she actively analyses diverse datasets using advanced statistical tools. In recognition of her expertise in statistical analysis and its application to specialised research areas, she has been awarded intellectual property rights. Through her research, she bridges the gap between theoretical advancements and practical applications, fostering a deeper understanding of data-driven decision-making in business environments.
