Dr Gurrieri is an Associate Professor in the School of Economics, Finance & Marketing.
Associate Professor Gurrieri’s research examines gender, consumption and the marketplace, with a focus on inequalities and harms (re)produced across consumer and digital cultures. This includes gendered representations in advertising and social media; body norms and beauty ideals in consumer culture; violence against women and marketing; and the strategies used by consumers to resist and challenge gender-based exclusion and marginalisation in the marketplace. She has authored over 40 academic publications and commissioned reports and has been awarded over $600,000 in research funding, including from the Australian Research Council. She is an Associate Editor at the Journal of Marketing Management, has co-edited 3 special issues, is an Advisory Board Member for GENMAC (Gender, Marketing and Consumer Behaviour) and is on the reference group of ShEqual. Associate Professor Gurrieri has worked with a range of organisations, providing expert advice and invited presentations on gender equality issues, including the Victorian Government, Australian Association of National Advertisers, City of Melbourne and various health and women’s organisations. Her research has been featured across television, radio, print and online media, including outlets such as SBS, The Guardian, ABC Radio National, the Conversation and the Financial Times.
Dr Wang is an Associate Professor in the School of Management.
Associate Professor Wang’s expertise lies in organisational psychology, and her research focuses on understanding and fostering positive individual attributes and behaviours at work; and advancing diversity and inclusion in organisations. She is a current Section Editor of Work and Organizational Psychology at the journal Applied Psychology: An International Review, while also sitting on the Editorial Board of the journal Human Relations. She is a past co-editor of an award-winning book series, Advances in Global Leadership, published by Emerald. Across her career, Associate Professor Wang has attracted over $1.75 million in external funding and worked with many governments and businesses on projects developing organisational capability and initiatives supporting diversity and inclusion. The organisations she has worked with include National Mental Health Commission, Department of Defence, Victoria’s Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, BHP Billiton, Wesfarmers, among many others.
Dr Cameron Duff is an Associate Professor in the School of Management.
Dr Cameron Duff’s work explores social innovation and organisational responses to enduring health and social problems in cities, including housing and homelessness, mental illness and distress. He is particularly interested in how social innovations emerge within organisational settings, and how social design responses can enhance the impact of this innovation within and beyond organisational settings.
Dr Bernado Figueiredo is an Professor in Marketing in the School of Economics, Finance & Marketing.
Professor Figueiredo’s research interests focus on understanding how the globalisation of markets and cultures shapes consumption and marketing practices.
Professor Figueiredo has worked on several projects with communities and government including building transformational frameworks, strategic recommendations, and actionable toolkits for community engagement, behavioural change, and consumer wellbeing. He has worked in a variety of industry jobs including marketing positions at Procter and Gamble and Unilever, Science and Technology Analyst for a major research funding institution, Auditor for the Brazilian Government. He has also been and Marketing Director and CEO in two SMEs in the art and culture industry.
Dr Bronwyn Coate is a Associate Professor in Economics in the school of Economics, Finance & Marketing.
Associate Professor Coate is a cultural economist whose research interests include art markets, creative industries and creative placemaking. Her research is innovative and recognised for the contribution it makes in understanding the dynamics of creative industries. She is currently working as part of a team on a tender with the City of Melbourne to evaluate the economic impact of the City’s Arts investment.
Dr Leila Afshari is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Management
Dr Afshari’s current research interests include Employee Well-being and Performance, High Performing Work Systems, Professional and Organizational Identity, Organizational Leadership, Women in STEM and Leadership, and Professional Development of Migrants.
Her recent research projects with the industry was focused on measuring the effectiveness of the DSTG's collaboration with their strategic alliances.
