About the Centre

Please note that the Childcare centre has recently moved to a brand new building on Lygon Street.

The centre is now accessible at street level, and features four floors, with outdoor play areas for the children at each level, as well as a roof top play area.

The Centre is comprised of five rooms:

  • Room 1: 3-18 months
  • Room 2: 12 months-2 years
  • Room 3: 2-3 years
  • Room 4: 3-4 years
  • Room 5: 4-5 years

Room 5 includes a four-year-old kindergarten program.

We are strongly committed to providing a progressive and consistently high quality children's service where the needs of both the children and the families are met. We aim to provide an environment that nurtures the uniqueness of each child.

Our program enables the children to learn and develop skills through the process of exploration within an educationally play based curriculum. We aim to provide an encouraging environment that is supportive and safe. Our aim is to work as a partnership with our families integrating our diverse cultures, backgrounds, beliefs and attitudes in our community. The Centre offers a daily Kindergarten program for children who turn four on or before 30 April.

Our information guide (PDF 2.3mb, 22p) provides further detail about the Centre and our policies.

"The program consistently provided opportunities for children to develop a range of skills in line with the learning outcomes of the approved learning framework"
"Families were informed about their child’s progress through the online application and were able to contribute their ideas to the program through conversations with educators."
"Resources ensured all children were active participants in their learning including books in different languages and a variety of sensory activities. The service actively cared for its environment and engaged children and families in this through group projects and discussions."
"Educators consistently shared joy and humour and engaged with children at their level, demonstrating positive and respectful relationships at all times."

A qualified staff member, holding a minimum of a two year qualification in Early Childhood Education, is responsible for the supervision of each room at the Centre.

Staff are encouraged to continue to further themselves through numerous avenues to keep up to date with current practices, research and theories.

Please contact us by telephone or email to inquire about childcare and to arrange a time to visit the Centre.
