RMIT City Campus Children's Centre provides long daycare for the children of staff and students at RMIT University.
About the Centre
The Centre is comprised of four rooms:
- Koala Room: 16 children - 3 months to 2 years
- Joey Room: 8 children - 18 months to 3 years
- Platypus Room: 12 children - 18 months to 3 years
- Possum Room: 22 children - 3 years to 5 years
We are strongly committed to providing a progressive and consistently high quality children's service where the needs of both the children and the families are met. We aim to provide an environment that nurtures the uniqueness of each child.
Our program enables the children to learn and develop skills through the process of exploration within an educationally play based curriculum. We aim to provide an encouraging environment that is supportive and safe. Our aim is to work as a partnership with our families integrating our diverse cultures, backgrounds, beliefs and attitudes in our community. The Centre offers a daily Kindergarten program for children who turn four on or before 30 April.
Our information guide (PDF 187kb, 19p) provides further detail about the Centre and our policies.
We have a committed, dedicated, enthusiastic and bi-lingual team of Educators. All staff employed at the Centre have a formal qualification in Early Childhood Education. A qualified staff member, holding a minimum of a two year qualification in Early Childhood Education, is responsible for the supervision of each room at the Centre.
Staff are encouraged to continue to further themselves through numerous avenues to keep up to date with current practices, research and theories.
Please contact us by telephone or email to inquire about childcare and to arrange a time to visit the Centre.
