Dr. Charmaine Lloyd is a Senior Lecturer in Microbiology for Undergraduate courses BIOL2531/2532 Microbiology and Immunology in the Bundoora and City campuses (Cohort size: ~400). She is the Program Manager of the BP293 Double degree, and a Researcher with interests in AMR and drug discovery. She is also an active member in Education special interest groups.
Background:
Prior to joining RMIT U in July 2023, she taught Microbiology and related STEM courses at the Polytechnic and University level in India, Singapore (SG) and Australia for the past 16 years. She has been recognised for her dedication to teaching with three School Teaching awards (Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore), two national awards (EXSA Gold, Singapore), one national society award in Australia i.e. the Australian Society of Microbiology (ASM) Cheryl Power Early Career Excellence in Teaching Award and the Vice Chancellor's special mention for her efforts in WIL Industry Engagement at Swinburne University of Technology (2022). She is currently the elected ASM Education Special Interest Group (EdSIG) chair and National ASM EduCon conference chair for 2023-'25 at Brisbane and Adelaide.
