Dr Roula Kyriacou is a senior lecturer in pathology. She coordinates and teaches into several pathology courses undertaken by students from multiple programs in the School of Medical Sciences and in the School of Health Sciences. She also teaches into a number of service courses that have a pathology component, some of which have been delivered cross-campus, on-line or by video-conferencing. As Pathology Unit Leader, Roula’s key responsibilities include leadership, management and support of the Pathology Unit Team, and achieving the delivery of quality learning and teaching activities for undergraduate and postgraduate/research students.
As Program Coordinator for the BP147 Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Laboratory Medicine) program, Roula strives to promote excellent learning and teaching practice, maintain industry engagement through work-integrated learning (WIL) activities, cater for a diverse student cohort, and, above all, improve the student experience.
In addition to the above, Roula is also:

Educational development work
• Development of pathology courseware for delivery in a blended learning environment
• Development of integrated lecture, tutorial, practical and lectorial classes utilizing the Pathology Digital Imaging Laboratory
• Development of modular, online problem-solving/case-based teaching in histology, histopathology, general pathology and systemic pathology
• Development of interactive and online assessment practices in pathology
• Development of digital learning materials, including image-based slide sets and morbid anatomy specimens, video material
• Areas of interest and expertise include pathology, histopathology, morbid anatomy, immunohistochemistry, molecular pathology and neuroscience
