Overview

The HonduFuturo-RMIT University joint scholarship is jointly funded by RMIT and Fundación HonduFuturo and aims to provide further financial assistance to talented Honduran students who want to pursue Master by Coursework, Masters by Research and PhD programs at RMIT.

Value and benefits

For 2026 commencement this scholarship provides:

  • RMIT UP Academic English Bursary for Latin American students if you are required to study ELICOS
  • 20% reduced tuition fee for Master by Coursework program in any discipline
  • Full tuition fee scholarship for ten eligible students for maximum of 4 years of a PhD program or 2 years of a Masters by Research program (with no possibility of extension). Scholarships will be distributed evenly across RMIT's three Colleges

HonduFuturo provides up to a total amount of USD 25,000 per year for a maximum of 2 years to cover remaining tuition fees, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), living costs and other related costs.

Students will be required to provide additional living costs beyond the two years that are covered by Guatefuturo and will be responsible for arranging the following:

  • Visa and associated expenses
  • Student Services and Amenities Fees (SSAF)
  • Accommodation, travel, books, equipment and other expenses

Eligibility for the scholarship

Eligibility

In order to qualify for this scholarship you must:

  • Be a citizen of Honduras
  • Have an offer for a Master by Coursework or Masters by Research or PhD program at RMIT
  • Be an awardee of the HonduFuturo scholarship-loan
  • Commence full-time enrolment as an onshore international student

How to apply

Step 1: Choose your degree

Select an RMIT Masters or PhD available for international students.

Step 2: Apply to RMIT

Submit your application to study at RMIT.

Step 3: Submit your scholarship application

Upon receiving an offer from RMIT, submit an application for the HonduFuturo scholarship-loan scheme.

After you apply

Selected beneficiaries of the Hondufuturo scholarship-loan scheme will then be considered and nominated for the discount through the Hondufuturo-RMIT joint scholarship.
