This scholarship, valued at AU$20,000, is available to citizen of the People’s Republic of China (including Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR) students studying the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) offshore.

Up to five (5) scholarships are available.

Medibank is the preferred Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) provider for RMIT international students.

Value and benefits

  • The total value of the scholarship is AU$20,000, to be paid to recipient's Australian bank account in AU$10,000 installments after the census date of each semester of the first year.
  • Successful applicants will receive an industry experience opportunity with Medibank.

Eligibility

In order to qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • be domiciled in the Greater China Region (including Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR)
  • be currently undertaking the VCE/SACE/WACE/HSC program in the Greater China Region and commence their studies in the 2027 academic year
  • hold a valid student visa, or intend to apply for one prior to the start of their program
  • submit your application via VTAC and receive an unconditional offer from RMIT for Undergraduate degree
  • not be currently enrolled as a student at RMIT.

Selection criteria

Successful applicants will be selected based on the following:

  • academic merit, as reflected by the applicant's ATAR score
  • five scholarships will be awarded to the highest-ranking eligible applicants
  • for degrees that require a portfolio submission, both the portfolio and ATAR results will be assessed holistically, and the most competitive candidates will be selected for admission and scholarship consideration.

Terms and conditions

  • Successful applicants for December round will be notified on 23 December 2026. December round successful scholarship recipients must accept their offer of admission to RMIT (including payment of applicable deposit fees) by Friday 8 January 2027.
  • This scholarship is not refundable.
  • This scholarship cannot be deferred to another year or intake and must be taken up in Semester 1 2027.
  • This scholarship is only available to non-existing RMIT student.
  • This scholarship is for eligible students commencing a Bachelor Degree program at RMIT in Semester 1 2027.
  • RMIT or Medibank may profile scholarship recipients.
  • Scholarship selection is based on academic merit or demonstrated involvement in extracurricular or community activities and personal qualities.
  • Successful applicants will be invited to an induction session, where they will be given a guided tour of Medibank Head Office. They will also have the opportunity to attend Medibank workshops, participate in event-coordination for Medibank.
  • Applicants must not be in receipt of any other RMIT scholarship.
  • Successful applicants will be notified; unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted.
  • The scholarships will be offered on a rolling basis and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until all available scholarships are exhausted.

  • All dates are in Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST). 
  • Applicants are responsible for ensuring their ATAR results are submitted by the specified deadline. Late submissions will not be considered.
  • Successful applicants will be notified on 23 December 2026. Scholarship recipients must accept their offer of admission to RMIT (including payment of applicable deposit fees) by 8 January 2027.
