The China Scholarship Council – RMIT Joint Funding Program is only available to citizens of the People’s Republic of China wishing to study a PhD at RMIT.

There is a two-stage application process. The closing date for CSC applications to RMIT is 1 February 2026.
Submit an application to RMIT University. Only STEM programs are currently available to CSC applicants. Please note that this is a two-stage application process, consisting of an Expression of Interest (EOI) followed by a full application.
We recommend applying early, as processing times typically range from 8 to 12 weeks. Indicate that you have applied for, or plan to apply for, a China Scholarship Council scholarship.
Once you have received an offer from RMIT University, you will need to apply separately to the CSC. You should follow the CSC guidelines and apply online for the living allowance scholarship. RMIT’s offer will need to be included with the CSC application.
The China Scholarship Council (CSC) usually notifies applicants of the outcome of living allowance scholarship applications at the end of May for commencement no later than the 31 December in the following year.
