Medibank is the preferred OSHC provider for RMIT international students. This scholarship is available to international students studying Australian Year 12 or International Baccalaureate in Australia
Value and duration
- The total value of the scholarship is AU$12,000, to be paid to recipient's Australian bank account in $6,000 installments after the census date of each semester of the first year.
- Industry experience opportunity with Medibank.
Number of scholarships available
Up to Five (5) scholarships are available*.
* If not awarded to eligible applicants in the December round, the scholarships may be offered in the January round.
Eligibility
In order to qualify for this scholarship, you must:
- be applying from Australia
- be a current year 12 student in Australia graduating in 2025
- be an international student holding a valid student visa or plan to apply for a student visa prior to the program commencement
- submit your application via VTAC and receive an offer from RMIT for an Associate degree or Undergraduate program
- not be an existing RMIT student
Selection Criteria
Applicants should show:
- strong academic results in Year 12 or the International Baccalaureate and
- participation in extracurricular or leadership activities or
- engagement in community or volunteer work
Applicants must include a short statement (up to 200 words) explaining why they are a strong candidate based on the criteria above.

Terms and conditions
- Successful applicants for December round will be notified on Tuesday 23 December 2025. December round successful scholarship recipients must accept their offer of admission to RMIT (including payment of applicable deposit fees) by Thursday 8 January 2026
- Successful applicants for January round will be notified on Wednesday 14 January 2025. January round successful scholarship recipients must accept their offer of admission to RMIT (including payment of applicable deposit fees) by Friday 23 January 2026
- This scholarship is not refundable
- This scholarship cannot be deferred to another year/intake and must be taken up in Semester 1 2026.
- This scholarship is only available to non-existing RMIT student
- This scholarship is for eligible students commencing an Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree program at RMIT in Semester 1 2026
- RMIT or Medibank may profile scholarship recipients
- Scholarship selection is based on academic merit, demonstrated involvement in extracurricular or community activities and personal qualities
- Successful applicants will be invited to an induction session, where they will be given a guided tour of Medibank Head Office. They will also have the opportunity to attend Medibank workshops, participate in event-coordination for Medibank on Open Day, meet recent graduates working at Medibank, and be involved in a customer focus group.
- Applicants must not be in receipt of any other RMIT scholarship
- Successful applicants will be notified; unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted
- The scholarships will be offered on a rolling basis until exhausted
