RMIT Healthy Campus

RMIT is participating in the FISU Healthy Campus Program to strengthen, coordinate and recognise the University’s approach to health, wellbeing, sustainability and inclusive campus environments.

The FISU Healthy Campus Program supports a whole of university approach, bringing together people, places, policies and practices that contribute to the health and wellbeing of our community.

What is the FISU Healthy Campus Program?

The FISU Healthy Campus program is an international accreditation framework developed by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). It supports universities to design, deliver and continuously improve initiatives that promote health and wellbeing across all aspects of campus life.

The program recognises institutions that demonstrate:

  • strong governance and leadership for health and wellbeing
  • evidence‑based practice and continuous improvement
  • cross‑institutional collaboration
  • measurable outcomes and impact.

Accreditation is assessed across seven domains:

  • Healthy Campus management
  • physical activity and sport
  • nutrition
  • disease prevention
  • mental and social health
  • environment, sustainability and social responsibility
  • risk behaviours (alcohol, drugs, sexual health, gender-based violence).

  • Healthy Campus governance structures established
  • executive sponsorship in place
  • Healthy Campus Working Groups active
  • evidence development underway across the University
  • accreditation submission in progress.

Progress toward FISU Healthy Campus accreditation is reviewed regularly through the Healthy Campus Working Groups to ensure a coordinated, transparent and evidence‑based approach.
