Now accepting 2027 First Site Gallery project proposals

We are now accepting proposals for our 2027 exhibition program at First Site Gallery, RMIT’s dedicated student gallery. This space provides a platform for emerging practitioners to experiment, take risks and publicly present their work—often for the first time. Exhibiting at First Site Gallery offers students a unique opportunity to become part of a vibrant creative community and build new connections, while expanding their practice.

If you have a project or a creative concept you would like to bring to life in a gallery setting, we invite you to apply for our 2027 program.

We strongly encourage applications from culturally diverse backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, LGBTQIA+ practitioners and individuals with lived experiences of disability.

Applications close on Sunday, 1 November, at 11:59 PM.

To apply, read through the guidelines as well as the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and fill out the proposal form for either the Black-box room or for Rooms 1, 2 and 3 (both forms can be accessed below) and then email it to us at:  galleries@rmit.edu.au

The email subject heading should be: 2027 FSG exhibition proposal followed by your name.
