How can renewable energy Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) deliver broader social and environmental benefits within a complex energy system?

Join us at the Kaleide Theatre as a part of the Regenerative Futures Institute's inaugural Events Season for a panel discussion exploring the future of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Featuring perspectives from RMIT, the City of Melbourne and industry experts, the session will reflect on the achievements and lessons learned from the Melbourne Renewable Energy Projects 1 and 2 (MREP1 and MREP2), as well as what comes next for PPAs.

The panel will consider how PPAs can deliver benefits beyond emissions reduction and price certainty, including improved energy access, local community development, ecological health and social equity. It will also explore how universities, government and industry can work together to support a fairer and more sustainable energy transition.
