Dr Paul Kremer, a PhD student in RMIT’s School of Property, Construction and Project Management, was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to the built environment.
The Australia Day Honours recognise Australians for outstanding service and achievement across a wide range of fields. The 2026 Honours List recognised 949 Australians for significant contributions to their communities, outstanding achievements and meritorious service, including Dr Paul Kremer, a PCPM PhD candidate.
Dr Paul Kremer was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in recognition of significant service to the built environment. The honour acknowledges sustained contributions across industry, research and leadership, with impact extending to construction practice, innovation, and community outcomes.
The award reflects national recognition of influence in advancing the built environment through integrated approaches that connect technical systems, human factors, and long-term asset performance.
Paul’s PhD is titled Open Circular Adaptive Buildings (OCAB): Aligning Design, Ownership and Lifecycle Performance in Mid-Rise Housing Systems, and his 3rd milestone is scheduled during the upcoming June 2026 Urban Futures and Social Change Symposia. His supervisors are Ron Wakefield, Ali Ahankoob, and Behzad Abbasnejad.
This PhD will be Paul’s second doctorate degree, and he has already authored or co-authored over 45 articles. His other accomplishments include:
