SHINe Symposium 2025: Advancing Innovation in Construction Health and Safety
The Safety and Health Innovation Network (SHINe) at RMIT is proud to host the inaugural SHINe Symposium on 3 October 2025. The symposium is landmark event bringing together leaders in research, industry and policy to advance construction health and safety through evidence-based innovation.
A platform for collaboration and research
The symposium will feature presentations and insights from:
- SHINe Foundational Member organisations
- project team members actively contributing to safety research
- representatives from the Construction Safety Research Alliance, a SHINe sister organisation and leading research body based at the University of Colorado Boulder.
This event will serve as a platform for sharing the latest findings, strategies and innovations aimed at transforming safety practices across the construction sector.

Participants can expect:
- to hear from world-renowned safety and health researchers including Distinguished Professor Helen Lingard – SHINe Executive Director, and Dr Matthew Hallowell – Construction Safety Research Alliance Executive Director
- presentations on the latest industry-informed research and practical applications
- opportunities to engage in thought-provoking discussions on emerging challenges and solutions
- a chance to connect with values-driven professionals and leaders across the industry.
