Dr Parham Moradi is Senior Lecturer in Information Technology at Victoria University and an Adjunct Fellow at RMIT University and Head of the Agentic AI Lab. He previously held a Research Fellow position at RMIT University (2022–2025) . His research focuses on Agentic AI, large language models, graph representation learning, recommender systems, reinforcement learning, and explainable artificial intelligence. His work develops intelligent, reliable, and interpretable AI methods, with applications in complex networks, energy systems, healthcare, and financial analytics.
Dr Moradi has authored over 140 research publications, attracting more than 5,600 citations (h-index 34), and has been recognised among the Stanford/Elsevier World's Top 2% Scientists (2019–2025).
He has led and contributed to externally funded research projects valued at over AUD $9 million, including projects supported by the Australian Research Council (ARC), Australian Economic Accelerator (AEA), and National Industry PhD Program.
He has extensive academic leadership and research supervision experience, having supervised 10 PhD and more than 30 Master's by Research candidates. His work combines methodological advances in AI with industry collaboration and real-world research impact.
I have over 14 years of teaching and research supervision experience in Computer Science and Information Technology, covering Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Programming, and Software Engineering.
I currently serve as Unit Convenor for IT Capstone Projects and contribute to course modernisation, unit development, and the integration of Generative AI into teaching, learning, and assessment.
I also have extensive experience supervising PhD and Master's by Research students, with a focus on developing independent researchers and industry-ready graduates.
My research interests lie in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with a particular focus on Agentic AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and intelligent decision-making systems.
My key research areas include:
My research also explores applications of AI in energy and smart grids, healthcare, e-commerce, financial risk analysis, and other complex networked systems.
