Rebecca Millar is a Lecturer at RMIT University with prior academic experience at Victoria and Latrobe Universities. She holds a PhD in nursing, an MBA, and postgraduate qualifications in law and mental health nursing, reflecting a strong interdisciplinary background spanning health, ethics, law, and management. Rebecca’s work is informed by extensive experience across academic, professional, and governance contexts, with particular strengths in research ethics, interdisciplinary scholarship, and applied health and social research. She currently serves on Human Research Ethics Committees, contributing to the ethical oversight and governance of research involving human participants.
Rebecca teaches into undergraduate and post graduate courses across both Nursing and Law.
Rebecca's academic interests are grounded in the intersection of health, law, ethics, and professional practice, with a focus on research quality, integrity, and impact. Rebecca is committed to teaching and research that are ethically rigorous, socially responsive, and informed by real-world professional experience. Rebecca's research sits at the nexus of the law and health contexts, focusing on governance, ethics and risk. In the education context, her research extends to the use of artificial intelligence in education and in managing academic misconduct.
