About
Monique is a Lecturer in Criminology & Justice Studies at RMIT University. In 2026, Monique completed her PhD at Monash University, where her thesis was titled "Bargaining With People's Lives": Understanding Women's Experiences of Guilty Pleas and Plea Negotiations in Victoria, Australia.
At RMIT, Monique leads the work-integrated learning (WIL) team to deliver a core placement program to Criminology & Justice Studies undergraduate and postgraduate students. She is also involved in the Bridge of Hope Innocence Initiative at RMIT, a student-led innocence project investigating claims of wrongful conviction and advocating for criminal justice reform.
