Permit parking

Brunswick parking is now free, however you must register for a permit. You can arrange a permit through the EasyPark system.

Through the new system vehicle registration numbers will be used to verify that a vehicle can park on campus.

Students who use more than one car for commuting to university will be able to swap their virtual permit between vehicle registration numbers using the online system on an on-demand basis.

Application instructions

  1. Register online via EasyPark, providing your RMIT email address. You will need to create a new password which is eight characters long and must include one capital letter and one number.
  2. Provide your address and contact details.
  3. Under ‘Apply for permits’ enter your vehicle registration number and continue.

To encourage ride sharing, ease traffic and reduce greenhouse gas emissions RMIT has launched a carpooling option at Brunswick campus.

Students and staff are encouraged to use the carpooling system to find other students and staff to share the ride to campus with. Those who successfully register for a car pooling permit together will be permitted to park in a designated free parking area on Brunswick campus.

Parking fines

Any vehicle that is parked on campus without displaying a valid permit is likely to be issued with a parking infringement notice. RMIT and/or the Infringement Court of Victoria will take further action if any recipient of a parking infringement does not pay the associated fine. Extra costs are applied in this case.

Important note

The cost of parking permits and the fines for parking without a permit are RMIT-approved student fees. Failure to purchase a permit or pay a parking fine will have the same consequences as not paying any other student fee.

Parking equipment failure

Please report any defective parking equipment immediately to the Service Desk.
