Tokyo Yokocho x Taiyo Sun

Location: Building 14, Level 4, Room 136

Tokyo Yokocho is produced and supervised by an established Japanese restaurant chain, Shimbashi Soba's chef owner, Takafumi Kumayama. This pocket-friendly store is aimed to offer delicious and healthy Japanese food to the RMIT's students and staff, with quick service! 

Taiyo Sun is an authentic Japanese Kissaten (cafe) specialised in Matcha tea and thick-cut shokupan bread. On the RMIT campus, you'll find Japanese style sweets such as matcha soft serve, affogato, matcha shokupan toast with azuki. Taiyo Sun created drinks such as the matchaccino, strawberry matcha latte and authentic Japanese matcha/hojicha latte are also on offer.

Kaki Lima

Location: RMIT Building 80, and Building 14 Level 4 Room 141

Indonesian rice bowl dish with twist that's the food was always delicious and comforting; what they always turned to when they weren’t sure what to eat. In the spirit of the street food vendors back home, Kaki Lima’s concept is fast and snappy in delivery.

RMIT student with showing student card will get 5% discount. Catering details need to arrange direct contact from us, but for normal size above 50pax we give 10% and 15% if the order above 100pax.

Bowen St Cafe

Location: Building 12, Level 4, Room 93

Nestled amidst the academic buildings of 10 & 12, a bustling hub of the University where all gather to fuel their day. Take advantage of unbeatable deals, like pairing a $3 coffee with any of our mouthwatering panini sandwiches.

From flaky croissants, middle eastern pastries, delicious muffins or even a classic toastie for a quick and affordable option that’s sure to bring comfort to a rumbling stomach making Bowen St Cafe a perfect destination for a budget-friendly meal any time of day. If you’re in the mood for something lighter, our fresh salads prepared daily might be the option you’re looking for a quick pick me up between classes or catch up with friends and colleagues. The Bowen St Cafe welcomes all with open arms.

Canto Pizza

Location: Building 14, Level 4, Room 104

Canto Cafe is located in Building 14, offering breakfast and lunch options including pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, salads and more.

Specials include: 

  • Free Drink with 9" pizza every Friday from 10.30am to 2:30pm (available for RMIT students only). 
  • Coffee with any sandwich (excluding toasties) between 3pm to 4pm every day.

Location: Building 12, Level 4, Room 107

Whether you call it a tuckshop, canteen, food stop or lunch spot, one things for sure: it’s the ultimate destination on campus for delicious budget friendly meal.

A feeling of nostalgia with tasty burgers, hot dogs, fried chicken, loaded fries, pies or even an old-school simple salad sandwich. The Tuckshop really does bring back a sense of comfort in the midst of a fast pace environment.

We are a hole in the wall joint making traditional and innovative crepes to take away, plus specialty coffee. We offer a 15% discount on Fridays.

Standing Room

Standing Room brings a high quality cafe experience to university campuses. We are dedicated to bringing familiarity to your morning schedule and specialise in accessible and refined coffee, brought to you through an ethically sourced and transparent supply chain.

Streat

Location: Building 10 Level 4 Room 88

STREAT is a hospitality social enterprise that cares deeply about the planet and its people. Their cafes and urban farms provide on the job training for young people, aged 16-24, with multiple barriers to employment. Their vision is that young people thrive, with a healthy sense of self, home, and work. As a social enterprise that provides on-the-job work experience to its trainees, STREAT has far higher labor costs than typical operators and any profits made are invested back into the Youth Programs, therefore, promotions/discounts are rare. 

STREAT run a reusable cup month in September called Siptember - encouraging individuals, groups and companies to join our reusable cup system. Innovation Workshops on Circularity, Waste, Going Deeper Shades of Green - each is promoted at the cafe and anyone can join.

The Bean Project

Location: Building 80, Level 2 and Level 7

The Bean Project aims to supply the University campus with affordable, healthy lunch and breakfast options, as well as exceptional coffee and sweets.

Discover Ejs Café, your go-to spot for comfort food located in Building 57, Level 4, Room 05. Indulge in the delicious selection of burgers, dim sims, fried potato cakes, and more.

Pearson & Murphy

Location: Building 1, 124 La Trobe St, Melbourne VIC 3000

Opening early with a full menu available for breakfast and lunch, including a delicious range of freshly made salads and a’la carte dishes – all made daily by experienced chefs. Pearson & Murphy also serve a large range of roti’s, baguette’s, focaccias, zaatars & pizzas.

A 15% discount is available on coffee, tea and hot chocolate to all students when they show their student ID while placing an order.

Boost Juice

It’s hard to get serious about juice, but we did it, friends. Blending the best of the tropics, the buzziest of the berries, and the cheekiest of treats to solidify our reputation as the Boost in the biz. From our Mango Magic to our clever protein recipes, our drinks are as iconic as the customers that drink them.

Little Bang Espresso

Location: Building 10, Level 4, Room 88

At Little Bang Espresso we are passionate about making exceptional coffee whilst creating special experiences with our customers. We understand the vital role a great cafe can have on its community, and we strive to be an inclusive, dynamic, and fun place to have a coffee, an artisanal pastry or merely just a chat and laugh with our team. 

We have the loyalty coffee cards. We also sponsor different clubs and groups on campus such as RUMA (RMIT University Malaysian Association) and even MoMU (Malaysians of Melbourne University).

Nibble Café

Location: Building 201 and 202

We provide a full range of drinks. Amazing specialty coffee (ZEST coffee), Hot Choc, Mocha, Latte, Range teas & Iced drinks. 

A range of Wraps, focaccia, sandwiches and hot food (such as Curries & pastas) and Hot Snacks. We also offer full range of catering services – even if its just coffee vouchers (a favourite with Clubs). 

We stock Tiger nut milk, which has the lowest climate footprint of oat, soy, almond and of course cow’s milk (by a country mile!) in Australia.
