Strategy and Storytelling in Digital Communication
Communication strategy is only as good as the salience of its stories. Develop ethical and compelling communication strategies and stories. Learn the critical practice of finding, developing and telling stories in our changing digital and media landscape across digital platforms and channels.
Audience Engagement, Ethics, and Analytics
Develop ethical approaches to listen, engage, gather, interpret feedback and anticipate your audience’s needs. Evaluate online audience listening tools and create accurate target audience profiles. Utilising AI and machine learning tools, set up and measure campaigns, testing, and optimisation to improve a campaign’s effectiveness. Visualise data insights about audiences and campaigns and present these findings to decision makers.
Developing and Managing Engaging Digital Content
Learn how to create different forms of digital content and manage content projects. Apply knowledge of communication strategy to create content that brings stories to life across digital platforms including video, social media, games and more.
Future Skills Bundle Option 1: Digital Marketing Strategy + Implementing Digital Marketing Campaigns
Learn the end-to-end marketing process from developing a successful marketing strategy to implementing digital marketing campaigns. Explore key digital tactics and techniques, identify customer business behaviour and segmentation, and develop Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Search Engine Management (SEM) strategies.
Future Skills Bundle Option 2: Developing AI Strategy + Customer Experience Strategy and Design
The AI strategy component of the course focuses on foundation AI concepts, ethics and applications including AI fundamentals and AI tools from Amazon Web Services. Tthe Customer Experience Strategy and Design course will equip you with the capability to develop innovative, memorable and delightful customer experiences.

- Develop a digital communication strategy summary in response to a brief
- Craft a story that aligns to the strategy and an audience
- Review stories and subsequently develop a relevant content plan
Audience Engagement, Ethics, and Analytics
- Create customer profiles with a data source rationale
- A report that analyses and recommends an audience analysis tool
- Create a campaign effectiveness report and video presentation
Developing and Managing Engaging Digital Content
- Develop a channel plan
- Develop a digital content artefact and rationale for how it achieves specified goals and platforms for its use
- Review two stories and develop project recommendations addressing strategy fit, budget, timelines and stakeholder engagement
Digital Marketing Strategy + Implementing Digital Marketing Campaigns
- Create a digital marketing strategy portfolio
- Produce and finalise a digital marketing campaigns portfolio

This course is designed to equip you with the knowledge and capability to become an ethical and creative content strategist or practitioner across existing and emerging digital channels in any digitally mature or maturing organisation.
For existing professionals and managers, this program upskills you to incorporate knowledge of and skills in digital communication strategy and storytelling, analytics and content development processes which will invigorate your existing practice.
Admissions
Entry requirements
You must have successfully completed an Australian Bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) or at least three years’ professional experience in strategic planning, communication, media, advertising, marketing or other related position.
To have your professional experience considered you must include in your application a CV and personal statement that details your experience.

2021 tuition fees are AUD$2,880 per course, totalling AUD$11,520 for four courses.

Fees are adjusted on an annual basis and these fees should only be used as a guide.

In addition to tuition fees, you will be charged an annual student services and amenities fee (SSAF) based on your enrolment load, which is used to maintain and enhance services and amenities that improve your experience as an RMIT student. Eligible local students can apply for an SA-HELP loan to defer payment of their SSAF.
