Certificate IV in Strata Community Management
Designed in partnership with Strata Community Australia, the Certificate IV in Strata Community Management qualification reflects the role of those involved in providing management services for strata communities. In most situations, the individual will work independently but may operate as part of a strata community management team.
Students will learn about strata schemes and communities, the functions and duties of a manager including the administration and facilitation of meetings, handling strata funds and reporting on financial activities, administering insurance, implementing contracts of appointment and the ability to read plans.
Through the program students will learn the importance of legislation and its application, effective communication with committees and other key stakeholders.
Once completed, the candidate will have a good understanding of handling a portfolio of strata titled properties and be able to work effectively as a strata manager.
The program is offered as an online learning qualification hosted on the RMIT University learning management system. Interactive digitally enhanced resources are supported with structured facilitator-led mentoring and individual guidance. The learning resources will be focused on strata management.
Students are required to be working in the industry, ideally with more than 12 months' experience, as assessment tasks are both work-based projects or industry operations.
This program has been developed in partnership with Strata Community Australia and supports the accreditation pathway for members of Strata Community Australia.
The Certificate IV in Strata Community Management is made up of 18 units over four themes.

Strata Community Australia (SCA) provides a nationally recognised professional accreditation program for strata managers.
As a member of SCA, each level of accreditation includes specific obligations for the member to undergo Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to maintain their accreditation status.
Successful applicants are issued with certificates with their accreditation level and official accreditation logos for use in electronic and hard copy stationery.
Students wishing to fast-track the program are expected to have been working for two or more years in the industry.
The completion of the Certificate IV in Strata Community Management allows you to apply for the Level 2 - Certified Strata Community Manager (CSCM).
- minimum 2 years' membership
- completion of Certificate IV in Strata Community Management or approved equivalent
- minimum of 24 CPD points acquired through ongoing professional development (minimum of 12 points per annum)

The tuition fees you will pay for this program will depend on whether you are offered a Victorian Government subsidised place or a full-fee place.

If your application for a fee concession is approved, you will be charged 20% of the standard government subsidised tuition fee for your program. You will also be charged a lower rate on your student services and amenities fee (SSAF).
In addition to tuition fees, you will be charged an annual student services and amenities fee (SSAF), which is used to maintain and enhance services and amenities that improve your experience as an RMIT student.
The SSAF is calculated based on your enrolment load and the maximum fee for 2019 is $303.

You may also be required to purchase other items related to your program, including field trips, textbooks and equipment. These additional fees and expenses vary from program to program.
In addition to tuition fees you also need to pay for:
- Student services and amenities fee (SSAF) in each calendar year.
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) - Student visa holders must have cover for the total duration of their visa.
- Some programs incur additional expenses.
