Dr. Shahin Heidari is a Lecturer in the School of Engineering at RMIT University, specialising in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and sustainable energy systems. His research spans thermal and energy systems, with applications in renewable energy, energy storage, and sustainable mechanical engineering. He has worked extensively on hydrogen-based energy technologies, including fuel cells and novel storage systems, integrating principles of heat transfer, fluid flow, and advanced materials. Dr. Heidari’s work aims to improve the efficiency and sustainability of next-generation energy systems, while contributing to the broader fields of thermal sciences and fluid dynamics.
With a strong commitment to research-led teaching and supervision, Dr. Heidari mentors higher degree by research (HDR), post graduate and undergraduate students across a range of thermofluid science and sustainable energy projects. His publications contribute to the advancement of energy efficiency, carbon-based hydrogen storage, and clean energy integration for future transport and infrastructure.
