PhD Scholarship in relational and socio-material approaches to apartment waste management

One doctoral scholarship is available for outstanding applicants to work on a multidisciplinary research project funded by the Australian Research Council's Linkage Project "Empowering households as active agents of change in resource-efficient sustainability transitions".

This PhD project will co-design intervention and policy programs with apartment householders, industry experts, intermediaries such as waste service providers, and decision makers and policy makers, to improve waste outcomes and increase recycling and resource recovery. Using Change Points workshops, the project will combine interpretive social science with policy work. The PhD student will be supervised by Professor Ralph Horne and Dr Bhavna Middha and will be based across the Post-Carbon Research Centre and the Centre for Urban Research at RMIT University.
