About
Dr Gemma Stevens is a Research Assistant in Criminology and Justice Studies. Her PhD research explored image-based abuse victim-survivors and their experiences seeking justice through reporting and help-seeking pathways. Her recent research focuses on issues relating to sexual violence and image-based abuse, including emerging issues related to AI and digital technologies. Her publications have explored both victimisation and perpetration, as well as community attitudes towards these forms of harm, with the aim of strengthening detection, prevention and response through policy, platform and community action. Dr Stevens has receieved an RMIT Award for her research engagement and impact as a HDR student.
