Russell Solomon

Dr Russell Solomon teaches in the Criminology and Justice Studies discipline of the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies.

Russell's current research interests include working on a project on the human rights implications of the United Kingdom's Brexit and another collaborative one examining the European Union's juridification and the challenge this poses for its democratisation.

He also has a general interest in Australia's engagement with the international human rights regime from a socio-legal perspective and is currently writing a book on Australia's translation of international economic and social rights.

Other research interests include the increasingly important debate around a rights-based approach to policymaking, especially in relation to economic, social and cultural rights, and the role of non-governmental organisations in promoting the agenda in relation to these rights.
