Offshore Learning Centres and other study options

Prepare for studying abroad in Melbourne by starting your RMIT campus experience in your home country.

RMIT University is partnering with universities around the world to provide a campus experience for international students impacted by global travel restrictions and border closures.

Offshore Learning Centres (OLC) and other in-country study options provide the benefits of a genuine campus community to RMIT students who are learning online while waiting to commence on-campus study in Melbourne.

RMIT currently offers OLC options in China to study in Semester 2 2022 (July). To find out more or register for an OLC, simply navigate to your preferred location below and submit a Register of Interest form for the OLC you are interested in attending.

OLC is a great way to prepare for transitioning into studying abroad by providing a safe and welcoming place for students to meet their RMIT peers, RMIT study advisors and learn in a campus environment at no additional cost. Students will also have access to university facilities and face-to-face support while completing an Australian qualification.

Studying at an OLC will not affect a student’s eligibility to transition into on-campus study in Melbourne. We will assist students to transfer to Melbourne once it is possible.

China

Chongqing, located in southwestern China, has a history dating back more than 3000 years. A rare combination of modernity and traditional textures exists in this vibrant city. Chongqing prides itself on breathtaking mountainous views at the confluence of Yangtze and Jialing River. There are many natural and cultural heritage sites accessible from Chongqing including the Three Gorges, Dazu Rock Carvings, Mount Jinfo (Golden Buddha) and Karst landform.

Southwest University is a highly esteemed institution located in central Chongqing. It is one of the first batch of "double first-class" universities, the "211 Project" and "985 Project Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform" universities in China. Last year, SWU was ranked 36th in China.
