Overview

To support the Victorian Government's Big Build upskilling program, the Traffic Management Skill Set has been designed to teach you the basics of managing traffic in and around construction sites.

Please note: this course is not available for international students intending to study on a student visa. If you are holding a temporary visa (other than a student visa) and your visa has a full study entitlement, you may be eligible to apply. The Traffic Management Skill Set is conducted in 20 hours over 4 days, comprising theory and practical work. Assessment includes managing traffic around the Bundoora Campus.

Staff are industry experts with a broad range of Industry experience and knowledge and connections within building and construction firms so they can provide relevant and interesting anecdotes, stories and experiences.

The knowledge and skills you will acquire throughout this degree and how they can be applied in your career are described in the learning outcomes.

You will complete 2 untis of comptency to complete this skill set:

  • Control traffic with a stop-slow bat (RIIWHS205E)
  • Implement traffic management plan (RIIWGS302E)

Career

It is recommended that students who complete this skill set also complete the Construction Industry White Card, Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry.

Admissions

You need to satisfy all of the following academic (entry) requirements to be considered for entry into this course.

There are no minimum academic entry requirements for this program. Applicants must meet the minimum University Entry requirements for this program.

There are no prerequisite subjects required for entry into this qualification.

A selection task is not required for entry into this qualification.

Tuition fees

The tuition fees you will pay for this program will depend on whether you are offered a Victorian Government subsidised place or a full-fee place. To find out if you are eligible for a government subsidised place, follow the steps at How to check if you are eligible.

  • 2024 government subsidised place: AU$425* per annum
  • 2024 full-fee place: AU$630* per annum
