We really learn a lot – things we cannot learn from books or in class.
Upon completion of two years of her RMIT degree, she will receive two qualifications: a Bachelor of Education from CCNU along with a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) from RMIT. The main reason she chose this qualification was that she loves children and it is specialised, meaning it is easy to find a job.
“The courses here are good. The teachers are just like friends – they teach you and hang out with you. Besides, RMIT has a good reputation in Early Childhood Education,” says Mikeyla. She finds RMIT to have highly-equipped staff and nice facilities, and opportunities such as placement at childcare centres that allow her to have actual work experience.
While she sometimes feels lonely living in a new country, she says that “every time I go to the city, the food, chocolate and ice cream here make me forget my homesick feeling”.
