Build practical skills in data science and artificial intelligence in this intensive boot camp operated as a collaboration between RMIT and the Institute of Data.
Demand for skilled data analysts and data scientists is strong, and is projected to increase. Strategically designed to prepare IT and non-IT professionals to make a career transition to the data industry, this course will teach you how to create predictive models by learning to wrangle, analyse, visualise, predict and find insights into data.
In this non-accredited short course, you will learn from industry experts about how to apply machine learning and AI techniques for businesses and government organisations, including business consulting and simulating commercial projects. You will undertake practice-focused data science and AI education to make a seamless career transition into this rapidly expanding sector.

Once you have completed your 400+ hours of training, you will receive the Data Science Industry Certification. This certification will demonstrate your technical and interpersonal capabilities to an employer and will provide you with the vocational training to work in the data industry.
Certified professionals will benefit from learning how to navigate the job market and participate in a job outcomes program designed to help them accelerate the process of landing their next paid opportunity. This will include exclusive Hiring Events and Industry-facing capstone presentations.
This course is assessed through completion of labs and a final capstone project. There is no formal exam. The capstone project is a real-life project and is assessed against the Institute of Data Certification Standards set by the Academic Board and Examination Board.

- 12-week full time: 14 September 2020
- Time commitment: Monday-Friday 9AM - 5PM
- 24-week part time: 15 September 2020
- Time commitment: 2 night classes per week, 6PM - 9PM, plus 1 Saturday class every fortnight, 9 AM - 5PM
Upon completion of this course, you will be trained to work in any entry to mid-level data science role, including data scientist, data analyst, data engineer, data science / analytics consultant, machine learning engineer, statistician or a hybrid data-driven role based on your interests and utilising your existing domain knowledge and your new data skillset.
As part of your study, you will also undertake a Job Outcomes Program, which prepares you for your next step and gives you access to career coaching, industry networks, professional brand and profile development, and interview preparation. 86% of graduates that complete the Job Outcomes Program achieve a job placement within 90 days, and 93% of them achieve job placement within 180 days.
