Students must complete a series of compulsory onboarding modules during their first semester or study period. Complete 72 credit points from the following:

Complete the 96 credit points from either or both the Business Options and Professional Practice Courses.

Complete 48 credit points from Professional Practice Courses:

The Professional Practice component of this program is designed with the expectation that students will complete a year-long industry placement (Professional Apprentice), or a minimum single placement duration of six months (480 hours). This extended placement is essential to ensure a meaningful professional experience and strong industry engagement. 

To support students who commence their placement outside standard semester dates or require flexibility due to individual circumstances, the following list of alternative courses is provided. These courses enable students to meet the 96-credit point (8-course) Professional Practice requirement through approved alternative options—either to complement a year-long placement outside standard semester, or, where a longer-term arrangement is not feasible, through shorter placements that are approved as beneficial in meeting the intended learning outcomes of the program.

Basic Econometrics is a compulsory course in both majors. If you choose to use Basic Econometrics within the Finance major, you must select an additional course from the Economics major to make up the 96 credits points.

To meet Financial Adviser Standards and register as a Financial Planner following graduation, you must complete the Financial Planning Major plus the following three (3) courses from the Financial Planning and Tax Minor: 

ACCT1060 Managerial Advisory Finance 

LAW2453 Taxation 1

LAW 2442 Business Law

Students completing the Industrial Relations minor will need to do the following:

Complete 48 credit points from the following list; and

Work, Health, Safety & Wellbeing is a compulsory course in both the program and the minor. You must select an additional course from the Human Resource Management major to make up the 48 credits points.
